A nephrite jade winepot in the shape of a European teapot. The coloration of the stone is mottled celadon and gray with russet veins and sprinkling of black. The top rim and foot rim are of undulating shape. The cover, which fits neatly onto pot rim, is surmounted by a lotus-bud finial, it is of petal form and lightly engraved with vining pattern. On either side of the circular body of the pot are four sinuous dragons (qilongs) with bifurcated tails. These are carved in high relief with some undercutting. Atop the circular handle is a qilong in full relief. At the base of the angular spout is an archaistic monster mask in low relief. The interior of the pot is neatly and smoothly hollowed.
