Notes	Project Location: Center for Contemporary Arts of Santa Fe, 291 E. Barcelona Rd., Santa Fe, NM. Sponsor/Developer: Center for Contemporary Arts. Project Description: In an exploration of light, this artwork consists of a stucco-walled entrance leading to the building's interior. The roof is open, allowing light to create various patterns, shades and perceptions inside the building. Seating is available around the four walls of the 14-foot-square inner space. The ceiling's knife-edge creates the illusion of a rectangular picture with changing light and sky patterns. The artwork serves as a celestial observation space, altering the viewers' sense of space and dimension. The artistic component of this work is the instrument which enables the viewer to observe the sky. The outward view of the artwork itself is irrevelant to the significance of this piece. Project History: This project was sponsored by the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Project support was also received from NEA and the Lannan Foundation.
