Built in 1624 for Marie de Medici by an unknown architect (attributed to Salomon de Brosse), this vigorous Baroque fountain stands at the end of a long pond filled with goldfish and shaded by trees. The fountain shows obvious Italian influence in its embossed decoration and overall design. Auguste Ottin added the mythological figures in 1863-6
