Subject Information
The modern counterpart to the Arc de Triomphe, and at the end of the great Parisian axis, the project took shape in 1983 as the result of an international competition. The arch is a perfect cube, 108 meters long by 110 meter high, by 112 meters in depth. It was inaugurated in 1989 to commemorate the bicentennial of the French revolution and the French Declaration of Human Rights.
