Subject Information	In 1980 Niki creates the first of her snake chairs, vases, and lamps. Working in polyester damaged her lungs and she switched materials later in the 90's. The San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and the Port's Public Art Committee has a program to both purchase and exhibit public art; this was part of that program.
