Built 1995. Project Description: A rectangular stone and bronze pad located among the old trees and lawn of the Minnesota State Capitol campus is the stage for an artwork memorial commemorating the life of Minnesota native, civic rights leader Roy Wilkins. A graduated spiral of bronze obelisks begins from a circular bronze floor that contains text descriptions of important civil rights events. Bronze walls, seating and bronze reliefs (which are small doorways which may be opened to find text) create enclosure and surprise to this original memorial. Project Location: Minnesota State Capitol Campus
