Notes	Square originally called Place d'Armes, and built 1850 to 1856 by Adrien de Pauger. Name and statue of Andrew Jackson given to it in 1856; French Market, a series of market buildings, the oldest designed by Tanesse 1813. Parts of the vegetable market date from 1823. Remodeled in 1930's under W.P.A., alterations and additions begun 1973; Photograph taken February 1980
