"Beaded necklace with cowry shell pendants. This item, which is almost certainly Omaha work, was purchased from Mrs. Niblick, a collector of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1965. It had belonged to her father, who was a physician in the Indian Service in the early years of the 20th century. Similar necklaces frequently appear in photographs of Omaha men taken in the late 19th century (Cf. Fletcher and La Flesche, The Omaha Tribe, Fig. 73; ibid. plate 31)"
