Description	base fully beaded w/4 beaded tabs pendant at bottom yellow dyed buckskin top. Motif on base beading consists of a central red band w/white band either side that has stepped blue & black triangles whose tip touches a block pattern on the red band - makes an hourglass shape that crosses the central band. Red band has blue rectangles with black accent blocks spaced evenly around. A band of white beading runds around the outer edges of the central hourglass motif band. This outer band has stepped triangle patterns in dark and light blue that are evenly spaced around - tips of triangles point to outer edge. Body of bag has beaded chevrons of pink and blue with triangles at the tips evenly spaced around the body of the bag. A strip of white beading extends from the base up the side of the bag, 2 hourglass designs in dark blue with light blue interiors. UNL Curatorial Comments	Collected at Rosebud Reservation by James Henry Garrett who was a teacher there in 1889, and probably for several years before and after. J.H. Garrett (c. 1865-1958) was the father of Marjorie Olmstead. In spite of its provenience it is stylistically Cheyenne. 1) the bar across the middle of the design field is typically Cheyenne; 2) the stepping of the triangles is Cheyenne; 3) the bar/hourglass motifs on the vertical seam covering panels are also found on Cheyenne style moccasins. [this contradicts my 1996 opinion - T Myers 10/2000] (stylistic identification confirms field data - T.Myers 5/96)
