Notes	Giuliano Dati's 'La lettera dellisole che ha trouata...' is a paraphrase of a printed version of Christopher Columbus' letter dated February 1493. Dati translated the letter into Italian and set it in verse. Dati's poem was first published in Rome, with later printings in Florence. This print is the frontispiece of the first Florentine edition (Florence: Laurentius de Morgianus and Johann Petri, October 26th, 1493).
