Description	"Test no. 397. Hitch arrangement for testing HD-19." Side-view of the hitch arrangement between the Allis-Chalmers HD-19 crawler and the tractors hitched behind it. The Adams test car is offset and is not in the line of pull. It only measures the oil pressure (i.e.draft force) from the test cylinder. The cylinder is mounted in the top link of the measuring rectangle behind the tractor. The load tractors are hitched to this rectangle in such a way that only a certain part of the total load passes through the cylinder in the top link. The reason was that the drawbar pull cylinder at that time did not have the capacity to measure the full pull of the tractor. This linkage arrangement solved that problem.
