Notes	[Exhibition at the 'Temporary Contemporary' location of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, CA. The 'Temporary Contemporary' was later renamed The Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art] Sponsor/Developer: The Museum of Contemporary Art. Project Location: Temporary Contemporary, 152 N. Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. Project Description: Irwin created a long wire mesh fence surrounded by bamboo plants on a traffic median in a street leading to the Temporary Contemporary Museum. Steam jets running the length of the fence shroud the fence in a cloud at various time intervals. This subtle artwork appears to be a functional part of the traffic flow in and out of the Museum. The tall bamboo shoots partially obscure the wire mesh fence. However, when the steam jets are turned on, the entire fence and bamboo are shrouded in a strange cloud that hangs over the artwork and then gently blows away. Project History: This artwork was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art for location at the Temporary Contemporary.
