About the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Libraries'
Image & Multimedia Collections

Welcome to the Libraries' Image & Multimedia Collections, currently home to over 75 collections and 220,000 items. Collections grow daily, thanks to partnerships between the UNL Libraries and other units on campus. Over 11,000 unique visitors search the Collections each month. Collections are comprised of a mix of teaching, historical, archival, and display collections and range in subject matter from Art, Architecture & Interior Design to Textile Studies & Clothing to Water Resources. In addition to images, a variety of media types is supported, specifically audio and video as well as art, text, and music. For example: NET houses programming series (859 videos, “All About Books”, “Big Red Wrap–Up”, “Nebraska Stories”, and “Recession Survival Guide” to name a few) in the NET Media Archives; and the School of Music has both audio recordings and digital images of programs for performances found in the Performances from the UNL School of Music.

The UNL Libraries provide the software, CONTENTdm, that powers the Libraries' Image & Multimedia Collections – CONTENTdm is a digital collection management software that orchestrates the storage, management, and delivery of digital collections across the web. It's an easy to use Windows-based collection builder that handles any file type, and allows searching through standard Web browsers by end-users anywhere, unless copyright restricted. If interested in donating a collection or developing a collection, please contact Jolie Graybill, Image & Multimedia Collections Coordinator, at jgraybill3@unl.edu or 407-472-4547, 319 Love Library.
